Joe Wilson - First Nations Artist was born in 1966 to the Kwakwaka'wakw Hak'wesagame' Tribe. Joe a descendant of the'Namgis First Nation, is grandson of Chief Alvin Edgar Alfred. Joes carving began at age 21 after being exposed to the work of master carver Willie Seaweed. Joe is well known for his very detailed oriented wood carvings and his elaborate silver, copper and gold jewelry.Besides many others, Joe headed a large project in the Netherlands, the Dolfinarium Harderwijk. The project consisted of a Kwakwaka'wakw village which encompassed the legend of the Undersea Kingdom. XRF assayed (X-ray) tested for purity.
